May 20, 2019
Rochester, IN – TOPP Industries, Inc. announced today that they are joining the effort to support the Indiana Governor’s WorkEthic Certificate program, as a participating employer, which gives students who achieve the certification an opportunity for direct hire at TOPP.
The WorkEthic Certificate is an award available to seniors at participating high schools that meet outlined criteria in areas such as attendance, community service, grades, teamwork, respectfulness and leadership.
The WorkEthic Certificate program was developed by the Governor and Indiana Workforce Development and designed to connect employers to their local school district and create a collaborative partnership that benefits the community. The program aims at providing students with an understanding of necessary employability skills for today’s in-demand jobs and allow an opportunity for students to demonstrate these skills while in high school. The program also has a goal of providing employers with potential workers who understand the values and importance of responsibility and perseverance in the workplace.
“We’re excited about the opportunity to be a part of this new program,” said Kevin Birchmeier, President of TOPP Industries, Inc. “The skills students are acquiring through this program will help prepare them for full-time employment and meet the expectations of local employers. The collaboration between the area schools and businesses will certainly make a positive impact on our community,” finished Birchmeier.
TOPP Industries, Inc. will be offering all certificate holders a guaranteed job interview, as well as an increase in base starting pay.
